Experience the Difference

Converging Currents boasts a diverse team, encompassing both seasoned counselors and new therapists. We recognize the value in every stage of a counselor’s career. Fresh perspectives from new therapists prevent stagnation in our work, while seasoned therapists offer their wealth of experience. Our embrace of practicum students serves two key purposes: it fosters ongoing growth within our team and enables us to provide affordable counseling through a sliding scale, ensuring access to the quality and care associated with private practice.

Regular team meetings and occasional student session observations (with client consent) are integral to our approach, benefiting our clients significantly. These collaborative meetings allow us to address questions and challenges, offering fresh insights and ensuring thorough client care. Collaborative sessions, involving multiple counselors, provide an extra layer of support for clients, introducing new perspectives and additional resources. We are passionate about team collaboration.

Practicum students work independently under the supervision of a senior counsellor. This senior counsellor actively participates in sessions with students and remains readily available for support and guidance. Clients are encouraged to reach out to the student’s supervisor with any questions or concerns. Working with a student counsellor provides the advantage of two counsellors dedicated to supporting your journey.

In our work together, we slow things down to understand what’s happening beneath the surface. Together, we create a path forward that feels clearer, more connected, and manageable.
